Stated Purpose
"to bring about a time when there are no more homeless pets by demonstrating and promoting exemplary animal care and building community programs and partnerships."
Best Friends Animal Society (BFAS) reports that it runs pet programs in partnership with more than 2,000 animal welfare groups across the country. In addition, BFAS has regional centers in New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Salt Lake City. Determined to get that number to zero by the year 2025, BFAS and its nationwide network of members and partners are working to save them all, by leading no-kill coalitions and initiatives in key areas of the country, by hosting national adoption events, providing public education, working collaboratively with animal shelters, supporting and providing spay/neuter services, opposing puppy mills, fighting breed discriminatory legislation, protecting community cats, and more.
