Child Sponsorship
FCN works in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in India, offering two sponsorship programs: one is hostel based and the other student based. The hostel based (boarding home), in which children come from different villages and are provided with education, food, clothing medical care, and housing and student based in which disbursement of funds are made directly to the student's account. FCN staff and social workers guide the students to use the funds properly. Children and students write letters in Telugu, a local language, or in English. The letters written in Telugu are translated into English and are sent to the sponsors. FCN staff, social workers and teachers assist them in writing letters. A sponsor is welcome to write letters to their sponsored individual, and may send photos and greeting cards. Sponsors are also welcome to visit their sponsored individuals, and should contact FCN to make arrangements. The cost of sponsorship is $240 per year.
