International Literacy and Development meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
International Literacy and Development (ILAD) aims to provide the skills, training, concepts, and access to materials needed to affect ongoing change with and within vulnerable communities. The organization engages in minority group language development and mother-tongue literacy programs, which provide training in reading and writing as well as helping to develop and provide written materials in the local language. Programs also include agricultural training, sustainable social business, microfinance, education, and clean water initiatives. Facets of ILAD's programs provide medical mobile clinics, drilling of water wells, sponsorship programs for children's educational supplies in rural villages, microloans for local farmers, and creating local and regional markets to help provide sustainable business for local farmers.
