Union of Concerned Scientists meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) conducts scientific analysis, develops innovative policy solutions, and engages in advocacy in order to address environmental and global security challenges. The organization?s climate program works to amplify the findings of climate science to build support for urgently needed emissions reductions and climate preparedness measures, while defending against cuts to essential climate programs. The energy program builds the case for a modern electricity grid that maximizes energy storage and runs on 100 percent clean energy. The clean transportation program works to show how fuel efficiency and innovation can cut oil use, drive down emissions, and make clean transportation affordable and accessible. UCS?s Global Security Program works to reduce the risks posed by nuclear weapons. The food program works to promote the availability of healthy, sustainable food without damage to health, land and water, farmers, and food workers themselves. Finally, the organization?s center for science and democracy seeks to strengthen the role of science in policy and community decisions.
