AWCs Partnership to Independence (P2I) initiative brings support to individuals seeking to establish sustained economic self-sufficiency. This five-year, one-on-one program engages participants in a holistic complement of programming that combines services in the areas of workforce development, health and wellness, financial management, and wraparound support. Participants develop skills, build social capital, and have increased access to community resources. AWC reports that its Neighborhood Partnerships program works in impoverished neighborhoods with the goals of creating economic opportunity, improving safety and stability, providing health and wellness programming, and empowering residents. The organization reports that this initiative brings together partners and volunteers from the corporate, government, and other sectors. Finally, AWC's Essential Support program serves individuals, families, and other social service agencies free of charge. The organization reports that it provides items ranging from furniture and home goods to infant and toddler items to professional attire and accessories to more than 16,000 individuals each year. AWC indicates that these children and adults are transitioning out of homelessness, fleeing domestic abuse, re-entering the workforce, or otherwise living without the items that are essential for stability at home.
