Stated Purpose
"to assist in the alleviation of human suffering in the world by providing basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter to advance and improve the welfare of all persons while preserving heritages, customs and beliefs and to acquire low-income housing and develop, renovate and manage housing for persons of limited means, the disabled and the elderly."
CRSC works in collaboration with grassroots charitable groups, churches and human service agencies to connect resources to help individuals in need in their local communities. The organization reports that it is an umbrella organization of 17 affiliated charities around the United States operating programs in the Appalachian region, urban areas, and on Indian reservations. CRSC also reports that is has programs that operate in Africa. Services provided include affordable housing for impoverished people and the disabled, domestic violence transitional housing, water development, agriculture and vocational training, youth programs, utilities assistance, emergency assistance, medicine, food, new shoes, blankets, winter coats, home repair, youth projects, school supplies, and supports of efforts towards self-sufficiency.
