Stated Purpose
"to serve immediate needs and support long-term solutions for strong, self-sufficient Native American communities."
Partnership With Native Americans (PWNA) reports that it works to improve the quality of life for 250,000 Native Americans annually across hundreds of tribal communities in the Southwest and Northern Plains. The organization partners with tribal communities and provides materials for nutrition, health, education, disaster relief and other emergency services, animal welfare, and holiday support. Simultaneously, PWNA also supports higher education and capacity building through impact-focused training, as well as community-led projects that address the symptoms of poverty and contribute to self-sufficiency. In all its services, the organization reports that it takes an asset-based community development (ABCD) approach, which builds on strengths present in the tribal communities it serves and brings together individuals, programs, and outside resources in order to leverage the social capital of a network mobilizing toward a common solution. Some ($1,566,337or 8%) of PWNA's program activities are carried out in conjunction with fundraising appeals.
