Stated Purpose
"to examine immigration trends and effects, to educate the American people on the impacts of sustained high-volume immigration, and to discern, put forward, and advocate immigration policies that will best serve American environmental, societal, and economic interests today and into the future."
Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) evaluates policies, seeking out solutions that help reduce the negative impact of uncontrolled immigration on the nation?s security, economy, workforce, education, healthcare and environment. The organization's media program provides television and radio interviews as well as appearances and editorials for national and local media sources. The program also supplies background information on immigration related topics for media outlets. FAIR's website provides information on immigration, including: illegal immigration, legal immigration, national security, labor and economics, guest workers, population and the environment, and societal issues. The organization's community outreach program strives to build awareness of immigration issues and empower Americans to assert their role in determining the nation's immigration future. FAIR's government relations outreach program provides educational data regarding immigration to state, local, and federal legislators. The organization's public education initiative is responsible for producing the educational reports FAIR provides to the public every year. The publications and research program is also responsible for FAIR's internship program, which works to engage students in the immigration debate. Some ($545,802 or 6%) of FAIR's programs are conducted in conjunction with informational materials that include fundraising appeals.
