Child Sponsorship
ECM reports that a child can be sponsored for $37 per month. Sponsorship includes helping a child stay in school, getting medical help when needed, learning life skills, receiving encouragement, and hearing the gospel. Sponsors can directly communicate with their sponsored child via letters, sending gifts, and personal visits if sponsors travel to Africa.
Every Child Ministries (ECM) operates programs in Africa geared toward helping children in need. The Street Children Ministries program caters to homeless street children in Ghana, with contact three to five times a week. Through this program, street children are counseled, given food, clothing, medical assistance, and literacy opportunities. The Leadership program sponsors two nine-month training programs to develop teacher trainers in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). ECM also reports training teachers directly through periodic seminars in DRC and Ghana, with 30 ? 100 children?s teachers trained in each seminar for ministry in local churches. The organization also operates Haven of Hope Children?s Home and Academy, a residential total care home and school for children rescued from the streets and from ritual slavery. The organization operates orphan/vulnerable child assistance programs through sponsorship in DRC, Ghana, and Uganda, aid to displaced children in Uganda, and aid, public awareness campaigns, and education programs to help children with albinism and disabilities in Uganda.
