Stated Purpose
"to stand up for, support, and enhance the quality of life for every military family through bold advocacy, innovative programming, and dynamic and responsive solutions."
The National Military Family Association (NMFA) advocates on behalf of military families and offers programs that help strengthen military families. The organization's Operation Purple program provides summer camps for military kids and retreats for military families to reconnect. NMFA's Military Spouse Scholarship program awards scholarships to military spouses to help fund education, career, or business goals. In 2020, the organization reports it awarded over 6,800 military spouses with scholarship funding, brought together more than 1,800 military families for virtual Operation Purple camps, and provided child care assistance funds to over 220 military families.
